TOP TEN REASONS
TO BOOK A PERFORMANCE BY ANGELA LLOYD

10. Angela Lloyd is in her 22nd year as a solo teaching/performing artist for audiences at Pre K-8 Schools, she knows the territory and the population.

9. Teachers say, "I have never heard an Autoharp played that way before, it was beautiful!”
Children say, “What is that? You sing pretty, too!”

8. Children are engaged, throughout the participatory nature of the show; washboard music goes straight to the belly laugh, the sunbrella teaches old and new.

7. Angela's teaching/performance style is light as a feather. Delightful, gentle, true, real.

6. An assembly is a community event, the only time where teacher and student are equal in their role as Host, welcoming guests. Both parties are nurtured and satisfied. This experience is designed to meet the aesthetic values of the students as well as the educators and others who spend their work days in the company of young folks.

5. "It was a celebration. We were so refreshed after. It felt like a party!"

4. There is a season and a reason all year long: Here are some:

  • September 22-25: Angela Lloyd In Lake Arrowhead CA Week
  • October: Red Ribbon Week
  • October / November: Harvest Time. Honoring Those Who Were Here Before:
  • Dia de los Muertos 10/30-31; All Souls/Saints Days Nov/1,2.
  • November 22: Tellabration: Regional Storytelling Concerts all over the world.
  • November: Families/Communities Gathering Together– Thanksgiving
  • December: Winter’s inside time: Reading out loud /Telling together
  • January: New adventures, the folktale S/Heroes: New Challenges, Goals, Path.
  • January/February: Three-Day weekends
  • February: Heroes, Mentors, Leaders.
  • March: Music in the Schools month Testing
"We have been testing all week and I just wanted you to come and give them a gift and you did! I am so glad I invited you!"
  • April: Poetry in the Schools Month
  • May: Mothers, Teachers and others
  • June: Closing the school year: “Look how far we’ve come!” Father’s Day.

3. Our business partners said” What can we do? How may we help?”
We asked them to sponsor Angela’s performance and created a community nurturing event. This raised the bar for Fun, funding and fundraising.

2. "My child listens to her recording every night before going to sleep.
Because we saw you, he knows who he is listening to."

1. Drum Roll please: Life is sweet. School is a village, a place for building community. Create the opportunity for your village: Get Together, Dream.
Angela Lloyd invites us to recognize the magic in the ordinary world and celebrate!
